Blackheads are an accumulation of dirt and sebum that has been trapped inside open pores causing the skin to look dirty and dull. The focus is to remove the dirt from the pores and get the pores to close again immediately to prevent any more dirt or bacteria getting in. Also the problem can come from the inside where a lot of oil or sebum is secreting out of the pores and getting trapped due to the clogging of pores by dead skin cells. There is a two throng approach to ridding yourself from the dreaded blackhead for good. One is to control the oil production on your skin by using the correct cleanser and moisturizer for your skin type. The correct products for your skin will help balance out the oil production which will greatly help the problem.
Get advice from a dermatologist on your skin type and what products to use as it is money well spent and will save you trying to rectify the problem in the long run. Second is to
keep the surface of the skin as bacteria free and pores unclogged as possible. You can achieve this by cleansing regularly at least twice per day morning and night with the correct products and keeping make up to the minimal. Also twice weekly use a gentle exfoliater to remove dead skin cells this will keep pores clog free and will help skin renewal.
Other helpful hints to keep blackheads at bay are as follows:
1) Avoid using soaps on your skin as they will dry out your skin causing sebaceous glands to go into overdrive
2) Always use a fresh towel daily on your face to avoid the spread of bacteria on your skin
3) Keep junk food to a minimal filling up instead on healthy fruit and vegetables to supply essential vitamins to the
skin and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to keep skin well hydrated.
4) Change your pillowcase regularly as oil and bacteria from your hair and skin can accumulate and be pushed back into your pores while your sleeping, avoid oily products like Vaseline on your lips or hands at bedtime as they can spread to your face during the night blocking pores.
5) Avoid all creamy oily products on your skin and steam clean your face pushing out any black heads every second week. But remember to close pores after steaming with several splashes of ice water and don’t wear make up for at least 24 hours after.
Keeping up with these tips regularly will help you get control of your skin problem. Remember
What you put into your body is just as important as what you put onto your skin, its cleansing from the inside out. And be sure to get good advice from a dermatologist on the best products for your problem because if you’re using the wrong products then all of the above will be a waste of time and effort. Good Luck!
