Got that big date coming up tomorrow and you wake up with a break out of bright red spots on your chin or forehead? We’ve all been there and shared the stress and panic of an acne flare-up. Luckily there are various tips that can make that spot disappear or at least shrink overnight. Acne can come down to a hormone imbalance so its common for teenagers and pregnant women to get breakouts as there body adjusts to the new levels of hormones been introduced, there’s nothing we can do about that but we can help pacify the problem when it raises its dirty little head.



No time or money to go to the store? Not a problem, there are products that are available in every home that can be applied to the spot to reduce redness and swelling overnight. Toothpaste has built in bacteria fighting agents as well as helping dry out the effected area. Cleanse face with a mild cleanser too harsh a product can over cleanse causing the skin too dry out and sebaceous glands to start producing oil again clogging pores and making the situation worse. Then apply some alcohol to the spot to balance out the oil in the skin, this will also work as an astringent to close open pores if there is no alcohol available lemon
juice or apple cider vinegar will do the same trick. After applying an oil free moisturizer all over the face except the effected area get a Q-tip and apply a pick of toothpaste to the spot and leave overnight to do its magic.



Another option is to raid the fridge for a tomato and some honey. Get a bowl and mix these together with some baking soda apply to the effected area and leave to work for 20 minutes. Tomato is a great natural cleanser, honey works as an antibacterial moisturizer and the baking soda will help in the skins renewal process. Also applying an ice cube to the effected area intermittently will aid in the reduction of the swelling and will help make the spot less noticeable enough to be hidden with a blob of concealer. Guys don’t be afraid to use concealer on a spot you can get an antibacterial concealer in all pharmacy’s and if you get the right shade to match your skin it will be practically invisible while helping kill the spot at the same time.



Remember eating too much junk food and nit enough fruit and vegetables deprives the skin and body of essential vitamins to produce healthily glowing skin. So make sure your getting enough fresh fruit and vegetables and are hydrating your skin sufficiently drinking at leases 8 glasses of water per day.
